Refurb Update (May)

We had hoped to reopen the pub in early May but unfortunately this has been pushed back to later on in the month. We will be working our hardest to try get back up and running for the last May bank holiday weekend. Thank you for your patience.

In the meantime, here's a wee peek at what's been going on...

A large portion of the stone wall from the original building had to be removed early on to make way for new access points and to make the building structurally sound. The stone is being reused to create some lovely feature work including two stone columns and a new wood store next to the fire.

The big bar is going in!

The front entrance (left) will remain much the same as before but with the new addition of some reclaimed glass being set in to the wall to provide some more light. In the new all-access entrance (right) dado rails and plasterboard are in the process of being put in.

The next few weeks will be pretty hectic, with various trades on site to finish plumbing, electrics, ground-source heating, cellar refit, painting....it's a long list but great to see all the hard work coming together.
